UPDATE: Just tossed the card into my roommates computer and I shows up in the device manager so it is clearly not the car that is causing the problem. Oh and btw all the issues mentioned above occur at stock settings as well.Īny suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! This is the product in question: I'm sure it is something painfully simple that I am overlooking. I returned It, got another one, exact same problem. I saw on another forum that someone had problems seating it in their wide case so I removed the back bracket from the card to see if it would go any further into the slot and it did not help. I then proceeded to make sure I had the newest BIOS, disabled the on board sound and reseated the card in every other slot on the sr-2, but to no avail.
When I attempted to install the asus drivers It said "Please connect the ASUS Xonar DGX Audio". Upon installing the sound card however I noticed that windows 8 did not try to install any drivers for it and a further investigation in the device manager showed that the card was not being picked up at all. I heard that using a 3rd party sound card could mitigate this problem so I went out and bought an Asus DGX Xonar to see if the issue would persist or not.
It seems stable in prime though but the on board audio issue is irresolvable at these speeds it seems.
I wanted to go even higher so I am not sitting at 215 blck, which I understand is quite rare for this sort of build.
At 200 blck I am able to get rid of them following the advice on another thread. Hi there guys, I have an sr-2 and it suffers from the same on board sound issues that all others do at high overclocks.
